Got a lower interest rate!

Decided to call my Citicard and see if I could get a lower interest rate. I got it reduced from 18.99% to 14.24%! Over the time it will take me to pay it off, I will save $958! Just by calling and asking! YAY!

    That's awesome, Scrappy! It also means that your credit score must be improving. They didn't lower your rate out of the goodness of their hearts; they lowered your rate because they believe if they don't you could get a better rate elsewhere. To keep your business, they lowered your rate. Keep your eyes open for offers to reduce your interest costs.

    I was so excited! I had my speech all planned out about having another offer (which I do). I just flat out asked the woman and she said looks like you qualify! The other offer is still better so I'm considering it but in the meantime, I feel good about this!

    I didn't realize that my credit score might be getting better as well. That's really exciting! I just paid off a HUGE chunk of bills so it makes sense but I didn't realize it would be happening so soon =)
